OPG Fecal Processing Guide
Operating Procedure
Reasons pet parents will want you to process fecal samples:
β Convenience... they don't need to be hassled with collecting a sample, taking it to their vet
and getting the results back to you
β Low Cost... similar price as the vet without any of the work
β Expertise... samples processed by the same national lab veterinarians use
β Fast... results come back the next day!
Fecal samples must be paid for prior to us processing them. The OPG fecal test is a retail option on Gingr.
How to Process a Fecal Sample:
Step 1
Have the sample collected and put into the collection tube and write the pet name on the
tube. Make sure there is at least a sample the size of a large marble.
Step 2
Log into the Canine Lab Testing website at www.caninelabtesting.com and click on “Login” at
the top right. Use your login credentials to get into the site. Username is info@pawspet.com.
Step 3
1. Click on New Test Request
2. Enter the client information
3. Enter the pet information
4. Select Next Step at the bottom right
5. Select which test you want to perform, click on Next Step
6. Enter your business credit card number (not the Pet Parent’s credit card!)
7. Click on Complete Payment
8. A popup of the lab request will appear, click on print above the pop up
9. After printing click on βfinish
10. Another pop-up will appear giving you directions to call the courier at
800-719-2226. The automated system will ask for the account number 180443 and the
zip code of your facility.
11.The automated system will also give you a confirmation number
Step 4
Place the fecal tube with the sample in the bag AND place the printed test request in the bag.
Step 5
Place the prepared sample into the white lab box.
How to Retrieve Test Results
Log into the Canine Lab Testing website at www.caninelabtesting.com and click on “Login” at
the top right. Newest results are at the top. If a result’s Status is Final you can select the
action button on the right and you will have the option of viewing or emailing the result.
Fecal samples can be submitted 7 days a week, the courier will pick up Mon-Sat.
