Operating Procedure


 

How to add a credit-card tip on an invoice at checkout:

  1. Once in cart, select the appropriate open line item type of either 'Tip (Bather)', 'Tip (Full Service Groomer)', or 'Tip (Staff)'.
  2. Add a description if appropriate.
  3. Enter the desired amount, and press the add to cart button.
  4. Once payment is processed, remove the tip amount from the cash drawer. If the groomer is here, hand the cash directly to the groomer. If the groomer is not here or available, securely bundle the cash together and write today's date, who the tip is to and from, and the amount of the tip on either a label or one of the small paper money pouches. Securely place the tip in the cash drawer. Note: all staff tips should be only be placed in the cash drawer after being labeled.
  5. Account for the tip by writing the information on the credit card tip log located at the front desk, on a clipboard.

How to handle cash tips handed to you from a customer

  1. If the tip is for a bather or full-service groomer, hand the cash directly to the groomer if they are here. If the groomer is not here or available, securely bundle the cash together and write today's date, who the tip is to and from, and the amount of the tip on either a label or one of the small paper money pouches. Securely place the tip in the cash drawer. Note: all staff tips should be only be placed in the cash drawer after being labeled.

How to charge a credit card tip to a service that has already been checked out

  1. Navigate directly to the cart.
  2. Select owner.
  3. Select the appropriate open line item type of either 'Tip (Bather)', 'Tip (Full Service Groomer)', or 'Tip (Staff)'.
  4. Add a description if appropriate.
  5. Enter the desired amount, and press the add to cart button.
  6. Process payment, then remove the tip amount from the cash drawer. If the groomer is here, hand the cash directly to the groomer.
